Frequently Asked Questions
Membership, pricing, programs, consultations, and the questions families ask most in their first week.
What is Platinum Puppy Village™?
It is a private membership community and developmental pathway for puppy families. It connects the work your breeder did before your puppy was born with the daily life of your household after your puppy comes home — early development, family preparation, Brain First training concepts, recovery, and lifelong support in one place.
How much does membership cost?
For most families, nothing. Participating breeders include Platinum Puppy Village™ membership with their puppies, so there is nothing to buy — you activate the membership your breeder already provided.
What does the breeder-included membership actually include?
Lifetime text and phone support, four weeks of training between eight and twelve weeks of age, 50% off any training after that four-week program, your family portal and puppy records, the full member library, and access to the wider Village community.
How do I activate my membership?
Choose 'Activate Membership' anywhere on this site, create your family login with the email your breeder has on file, and complete the short family intake. If your email isn't recognized, contact us and we'll match you to your breeder's records.
What is The First 72 Hours Program™, and is it the same as membership?
No — it is a separate, optional program. Membership is the ongoing pathway; The First 72 Hours Program™ is a focused, one-time program about the transition home, priced at $372. Enrollment is arranged through the breeder or rescue your puppy came from.
Why must programs be purchased through my breeder or rescue?
Because the pathway only works when it stays connected. Your breeder knows your puppy's litter, temperament, and early history. Routing enrollment through them means the people supporting you are working from real information rather than starting from scratch.
Do I have to watch the Safe Space video?
Yes — families are asked to watch it and confirm viewing before their puppy comes home. A puppy with a genuine safe space rests, and a puppy that rests can learn. Almost everything else we teach sits on top of that one foundation.
When can I book a consultation, and how long is it?
Consultations are one hour and run Monday through Friday at 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM Central. One family per session. You can pick an open slot on the appointments page and we'll confirm by email.
My puppy comes home this week and I'm not ready. Where do I start?
Start with the free First 72 Hours Starter Checklist, watch the Safe Space video, and read the family preparation page with everyone in your household. Those three things, done before pickup day, change more outcomes than any single training technique.
What does 'build the brain and behavior follows' mean in practice?
It is a sequencing decision, not a philosophy about being permissive. Rest before drills, recovery before exposure, confidence before duration, regulation before precision. Families who follow that order usually find the behaviors they were worried about arrive on their own, weeks earlier than expected.
Is this training, or is it education?
Both, in the right order. The Village provides developmental education and family support; hands-on skill work happens through the connected training pathway — Brain First Training & Games™ and the four-week program at Ruff Ruff Ranch™.
My puppy is biting, crying at night, and having accidents. Is something wrong?
Almost certainly not. Mouthing is normal exploration, night waking is normal in the first weeks, and house-training is a function of physical maturity as much as training. The most common cause of a 'difficult' young puppy is simply not enough sleep — puppies need sixteen to twenty hours a day.
What if my dog has a serious behavior problem?
Please work directly with your veterinarian and a qualified behavior professional. Aggression, resource guarding, severe fear, trauma responses, and anything involving safety or possible pain need in-person assessment. Nothing on this site is a substitute for that, and we will always tell you when to make that call.
Can this make my dog a service dog, therapy dog, or ESA?
No. Platinum Puppy™ provides developmental education and family support. It does not guarantee or confer service-dog status, therapy-dog approval, ESA qualification, public-access rights, certification, or suitability for any specific role.
I'm a breeder. How do I offer this to my families?
Get in touch. Breeder coaching covers litter and early-development planning, placement preparation, family education, and how to hand your work forward so it doesn't reset the day a puppy leaves you.
Is my information private?
Yes. Family records, intake information, and puppy plans are visible only to your household and the staff supporting you. We never sell your information. Details are in our privacy policy.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Membership provided by your breeder has nothing to cancel and no recurring charge. For paid programs, see our refund policy or contact us directly and we'll walk you through it.
How do I reach a real person?
Email Hello@DogsNU.org, use the contact form, or book a consultation. Members also have lifetime text and phone support through their breeder-included membership.
Still have a question?
Ask us directly, or book a one-hour consultation and talk it through properly.
